Protection Policy

PlaceMePal is designed to give candidates a structured, intermediary-backed path for platform-managed opportunities. This Protection Policy explains what "protected" means, what it does not mean, and how liability is allocated at each stage. It supplements the Terms of Service and Independent Contractor Agreement.

1. Overview

"Protection" refers to the default platform-managed engagement model where Astrosia Technologies LLP intermediates the relationship, candidates contract as independent contractors with PlaceMePal / Astrosia, and Empaneling Companies engage Astrosia rather than employing candidates directly. Protection is not insurance, a guarantee of income, or a promise of employment.

2. Stages and what Astrosia does (and does not) cover

Registration and onboarding

Astrosia provides account access and contract acceptance flows. We do not guarantee account approval or continued access. Misrepresentation may result in suspension without liability to you.

Browsing opportunities

Listings are published by Empaneling Companies or Astrosia-managed programs. Verification badges reflect review at a point in time, not ongoing warranty of every listing detail. Astrosia is not liable for inaccurate compensation statements, role descriptions, or availability labels (including full-time or part-time descriptions).

Application and preparation

You may apply to opportunities and access preparation materials where provided. Astrosia does not guarantee application success, interview selection, or that materials are sufficient for every market or product.

Interviews

Interview slots are coordinated through the Platform. Astrosia is not responsible for no-shows, scheduling conflicts caused by third parties, or hiring decisions made by Empaneling Companies or Astrosia operations teams.

Engagement and performance

For platform-managed opportunities, you perform services as an independent contractor. Full-time or part-time labels describe expected engagement only. You are not an employee of the Empaneling Company or Astrosia unless a separate written employment agreement exists (which the Platform does not offer by default).

Payouts

Where Astrosia or PromoteIt intermediates payouts under a specific commercial arrangement, processing is subject to the Payouts and Deposits policy. Astrosia is not liable for delays caused by banking systems, incorrect payment details you provide, or disputes over commission calculations agreed outside the Platform.

3. Platform-managed (protected) opportunities

  • You accept an Independent Contractor Agreement with PlaceMePal / Astrosia Technologies LLP
  • Empaneling Companies engage Astrosia; candidates are not employees of the client for that engagement
  • Interview coordination and monitoring are operated with PromoteIt by Astrosia where applicable
  • Opportunity pages display protected status clearly when platform-managed

4. Company-direct (not protected) opportunities

  • Available only when master admin enables direct engagement for a specific company or opportunity
  • Opportunity pages show a clear warning that Platform protection does not apply
  • Extra confirmation is required before you apply
  • Terms, taxes, payments, and disputes are primarily between you and the Empaneling Company
  • Astrosia's role is limited to listing and routing; we disclaim liability for company-direct engagements except as required by law

5. Taxes and compliance

Protection does not include tax filing, legal advice, or statutory registration on your behalf. Candidates must handle their own tax and compliance obligations under the laws of India, their residence jurisdiction, and the Empaneling Company's jurisdiction where applicable. See the Terms of Service for details.

6. Disputes

For platform-managed engagements, contact Astrosia through Platform support channels first. For company-direct engagements, resolve disputes primarily with the Empaneling Company. Astrosia may provide reasonable assistance at its discretion but has no obligation to arbitrate company-direct disputes.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Astrosia disclaims all liability for loss arising from engagements, including lost income, reputational harm, or claims by third parties, except as expressly stated in a written commercial agreement signed by Astrosia or where liability cannot be excluded under applicable law.
