Privacy Policy

PlaceMePal is a venture of Astrosia Technologies LLP ("Astrosia", "we", "us"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect personal data when you use placemepal.com and related services (the "Platform").

By using the Platform, you acknowledge this Policy and our Terms of Service.

1. Data controller

Astrosia Technologies LLP is the data controller for personal data processed through PlaceMePal, except where an Empaneling Company acts as an independent controller for data it receives after you apply to its opportunities.

2. Data we collect

  • Account data: name, email, phone, role, password hashes, Google account identifiers if you use Google sign-in
  • Profile and application data: resume, work history, skills, declarations, and other information you submit when applying to opportunities
  • Company data: business name, verification documents, contact persons, and listing content for corporate users
  • Engagement data: application status, interview bookings, preparation progress, and communications related to the Platform
  • Technical data: IP address, device and browser type, session identifiers, security logs, and usage events
  • Commercial inquiries: information submitted via Contact Sales or support channels

3. How we use data

  • Operate the Platform, authenticate users, and provide core features
  • Match candidates to opportunities, route applications, and schedule interviews
  • Perform verification reviews for companies and enforce Platform rules
  • Send transactional messages (password reset, application updates, notices) via configured email providers
  • Prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents
  • Comply with law and respond to lawful requests
  • Support intermediary operations under PromoteIt by Astrosia, including deposits and payouts where applicable

We do not use your data for third-party advertising profiles in the core product. We do not sell personal data.

4. Legal bases (where applicable)

Depending on jurisdiction, we process data based on contract performance, legitimate interests (operating a secure marketplace), legal obligation, and consent where required (for example, optional marketing if ever offered).

5. Sharing of data

We share personal data only as necessary:

  • Empaneling Companies: when you apply to their opportunities, we share application and profile data needed to evaluate candidacy. For company-direct opportunities, the Empaneling Company may process your data under its own policies.
  • Service providers: hosting, email, analytics, and support tools that process data on our instructions and under confidentiality obligations
  • Affiliates and PromoteIt operations: within Astrosia group entities for intermediary and commercial processes
  • Legal and safety: regulators, courts, or law enforcement when required by law or to protect rights and safety

Astrosia is not responsible for how Empaneling Companies use data after lawful transfer. You should review their practices where relevant.

6. International transfers

Data may be processed in India and other countries where we or our providers operate. Where required, we implement appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers.

7. Retention

We retain data for as long as needed to provide the Platform, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and meet legal obligations. Application and audit records may be retained after account closure where required for compliance or dispute resolution.

8. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect data. No system is completely secure; Astrosia does not guarantee absolute security and is not liable for unauthorized access beyond our reasonable control.

9. Your rights

Depending on applicable law (including India's Digital Personal Data Protection framework where applicable), you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, or portability of your data, or withdraw consent where processing is consent-based. Contact us to exercise rights. We may need to verify identity and may decline requests where an exception applies.

10. Children

The Platform is not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If you believe a minor has registered, contact us for deletion.

12. Changes

We may update this Policy. The "Last updated" date will change when we do. Material changes may be communicated through the Platform where appropriate.
